Christmas Tree Collection

As a service to residents, the Tamaqua Street Department will collect Christmas trees now through January 31, 2017. Residents should place trees at their curbside and the Street Department will collect as time and weather permits. Christmas trees should not be put in bags and all tinsel and other decorations must be removed. Residents can also drop off trees behind the Tamaqua Borough Garage at 417 Rear East Broad Street.

Tamaqua Garbage and Recycling Collection

Garbage and recycling collection in Tamaqua will follow the normal schedule during the weeks of December 18 and December 25. There will be no changes to the garbage and recycling collection days. Any questions may be directed to the Tamaqua Municipal Building, 320 East Broad Street, Tamaqua during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., or call 570-668-3444 or 570-668-0300.

Tamaqua Mayor Chris Morrison at the November 15 council meeting proclaimed November 29, 2016, “Giving Tuesday” in the Borough of Tamaqua. Giving Tuesday is a global movement to recognize and encourage citizens to work together, rally for causes, volunteer time, or make financial contributions on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and at other times throughout the year.
