LEGAL NOTICE TO THE TAXPAYERS AND RESIDENTS
OF THE BOROUGH OF TAMAQUA,
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council (the “Council”) of the Borough of Tamaqua, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania (the "Borough"), at a meeting of the Council held on July 7, 2020, enacted an ordinance (the "Ordinance") authorizing the incurrence of nonelectoral debt and the issuance of the Borough’s General Obligation Note, Series of 2020, in the principal amount not to exceed $1,469,000 (the "Note").
The Note was sold by private sale by negotiation to Mauch Chunk Trust Company (the "Purchaser"), Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, at par, bearing interest at a fixed interest rate of 1.960% per annum.
The final text of the Ordinance as enacted may be examined by any citizen at the office of the Borough Secretary, located at the Municipal Building, 320 East Broad Street, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252, on any business day (Monday through Friday) between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., prevailing time.
Any taxpayer or resident of the Borough may file with the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (the “Department”) a complaint asserting the invalidity of the proceedings relating to the Ordinance and the issuance of the Note or any part thereof not later than fifteen days after the date of the submission of the proceedings to the Department for approval, which filing is expected to be on July 14, 2020.
